The Subaru GH/GR WRX / STI wing is positioned above the car, in clean airflow. Equally important, it sits right above the rear wheels. This means all the downforce generated by the wings sits squarely on the rear tires. Traditional wings are mounted behind the rear wheels. As the downforce grows, this tends to lift the front wheels. The STI hatch doesn’t suffer from this problem, and can run much more rear downforce as a result.
UPGRADABLE
If you start with a static wing, you can purchase the Dynamic Module down the road for enhanced performance. The upgrade kit quickly adds underneath the roof.
